"She was being brought out" (Genesis 38:25). This teaches that she had lost the signet, the cords, and the staff, and the Holy One, blessed be He, provided her with others like them in their place — as in the matter that is said, "or has found that which was lost" (Leviticus 5:22). "And she sent to her father-in-law, saying" — he sought to deny it. She said: "They are yours and your Creator's." "Recognize, please" — the Holy One, blessed be He, said to him: "By the measure with which you measured to your father, they measure out to you."
