The Heaven-Sent Fire That Burned From Moses Until Manasseh

Midrash Aggadah, Leviticus 1:7

"And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire" (Leviticus 1:7). Even though the fire descends from heaven, it is a commandment to bring fire from an ordinary person. And the fire that descended in the days of Moses did not depart from the copper altar until they came to the eternal house. And the fire that descended in the days of Solomon did not depart from the altar of the burnt offering until the days of Manasseh son of Hezekiah.
