Jacob's Root in the Waters of Torah and the Dew of Blessing

Midrash Tanchuma Buber, Toldot 13:3

Another interpretation of (Job 29:19): "My root is open toward water." This was Jacob, who would run about in the houses of study that were open to the Torah. Therefore (the verse continues): "and dew lodges upon my branch." Indeed, when he comes to his father to receive ten blessings, it is with dew that He opens for you: "So may God give you of the dew of heaven" (Genesis 27:28), and so forth.
