Another interpretation of "like Tirzah" (Song of Songs 6:4): Just as you make yourselves pleasing to Me through the offerings, as it is said, "And it shall be accepted for him, to make atonement for him" (Leviticus 1:4). "Comely as Jerusalem" (Song of Songs, there): like those ministering angels who fear Me and are made whole unto Me. "Awesome as bannered hosts" (there): like the banners that I gave to you. And David sees and says, "He has not done so for any nation" (Psalms 147:20)—but only for His people.
Israel Like Tirzah and the Banners of the Ministering Angels
Midrash Tanchuma Buber, Bamidbar 13:2
