God's Greatness Bound to His Care for Orphan and Widow

Midrash Tanchuma Buber, Vayera 3:2

As it is stated (Deuteronomy 10:17): "For the LORD your God is God of gods" and so forth. See how great is the might and how great is the praise! And what is written after it? (verse 18): "He executes justice for the orphan and the widow." And it is written (Psalms 138:6): "For the LORD is exalted, yet He sees the lowly" and so forth. And it is written (Isaiah 57:15): "For thus says the High and Exalted One who dwells forever, whose name is Holy: I dwell on high and in holiness, yet also with the crushed and lowly of spirit." And it is written (Isaiah 66:1): "Thus says the LORD: The heavens are My throne and the earth is My footstool" and so forth. And it is written (verse 2): "All these My hand has made" and so forth, "yet to this one I will look: to the poor and broken of spirit" and so forth. And the rest are in the Book of Psalms (Psalms 10:16): "The LORD is King forever and ever." And it is written after it (verse 17): "The desire of the humble You have heard, O LORD" and so forth. And it is written (Psalms 68:5): "Sing to God, sing praises to His name; exalt Him who rides upon the heavens." What is written after it? (verse 6): "Father of orphans and judge of widows." And it is written (Psalms 146:1): "Hallelujah! Praise the LORD, O my soul." And it is written in that same psalm (verse 6): "Maker of heaven and earth." And it is written (verse 7): "Who executes justice for the oppressed" and so forth.
