Another interpretation: What is the meaning of "in everything"? By virtue of the tithes, as it is said, "and he gave him a tithe from everything" (Genesis 14:20). Isaac too [was blessed] by virtue of the tithes, [as it is said, "and Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in that year a hundredfold, and the LORD blessed him" (Genesis 26:12), and it says, "and I ate of everything before you came, and I blessed him" (Genesis 27:33). Jacob too was blessed by virtue of the tithes,] as it is said, "and of all that You give me, I will surely tithe it to You" (Genesis 28:22). Hence, "and the LORD blessed Abraham in everything" (Genesis 24:1).
