Rabbi Avin on God Who Feeds the Hungry Like the Showbread

Midrash Tanchuma Buber, Bechukotai 6:4

Another interpretation of "For who in the sky can be compared (ya'aroch) to the LORD?" (Psalms 89:7). Rabbi Avin said: Who is like You, who feeds the hungry? And "compared" (ya'aroch) can mean nothing other than feeding the hungry, as it is said, "On the sabbath day, on the sabbath day, he shall arrange it (ya'arkhennu) before the LORD continually; it is from the children of Israel an everlasting covenant. And it shall belong to Aaron and to his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place" (Leviticus 24:8-9). Thus, "For who in the sky can be compared to the LORD?"
