"And Moses was very angry" — because they said that he was putting out the eyes of Israel with his deceptions. "And he said to the LORD: Do not turn to their offering" — that portion which they have in the daily (tamid) offering and in its meal-offering, let the fire not consume it. "I have not taken one donkey from them," etc. — I did not take a single donkey for myself from them when I went to Egypt, for by law it would have been fitting that I take from them, since I go upon their errand; yet I took nothing from them, but rather from my own pocket I provisioned myself. And what is "nasati" (I have borne)? It means "I loaded," as it is said, "...carrying grain and bread and food" (Genesis 45:23), and we render it in the Aramaic translation as "te'inin" (laden).
