Why Rebekah's Family Asked for Days or Ten Months

Midrash Aggadah, Genesis 24:55

"Days" — a year. "Or ten" — ten months. This is because we learned that a virgin is given twelve months to provide for herself. "Days" means a complete year of twelve full months, as it is said, "Days shall be its redemption" (Leviticus 25:29), and like "from days to days" (1 Samuel 1:3). "Or ten" — one day at the end of the first month, and one day at the beginning of the last month, and ten complete months in the middle: he counted them as a complete year.
